The farm runs 900 intensively recorded stud ewes, plus replacements hoggets.

Our Romneys are recorded through SIL (Sheep Improvement Limited). We have strict culling across both our ram and ewe flocks, only 30% of male progeny become available for sale.

Alot of emphasis is put into fertility, survival, Longivity, dag scoring and immunity to worm burdens. No adult sheep are drenched, and will be culled along with any of their progeny if it is required for any reason. Working alongside AgResearch, we have done studies on faecal egg counts, including cultures over the course of a year. These were performed monthly on lambs (both rams and ewes), 2tooths and mixed age ewes.
