Welcome to Holly Farm
Located in the hills of the Rangitikei between Marton and Hunterville, We are a Romney Sheep Stud that was established in 1947.
Our focus is on providing a low input, high performing Romney that is sustainable for future hill country farming.
With over 75 years of proven breeding performance, we believe in our rams and how they can help improve your flocks.
Classes of Stock
South Suffolks
A smaller South Suffolk stud is also run on the farm. 2 tooth Rams are available from mid November annually.
Romney Rams
30% male progeny weaned offered for sale as 2tooths. Most rams used on steep hill country. Approximately 40% sold to Parapara / Ohukune area, 10% East Coast, 40% to Hunterville. Sold annually from mid November.
Romney Ewes
Intensely recorded through SIL Strict no drench policy on adult sheep Move well on hill country Scanning @ 203% in 2021, 199% in 2022, and 213% for the 2023 season.
Ewe Hoggets
Lambing approximately 70% of our ewe hoggets. Results analyzed with emphasis on sire groups with higher conception results. Docking averaging 80% of hoggets mated.
