We started blood testing for FE 10 years ago. For the last 3 years, we have been GGT testing and last year (2021 season) we introduced 2 highly-ranked FE gold Rams from Piquet Hills into the flock.

Dual Purpose Survival

Survival:

Survival has been a key focus for us. For years we worked with Invermay Research station on the survival and longevity of our sheep.

Dag Scoring:

Dag scoring is performed annually. Using a scale system of 0-5 (0 being fully clean to a 5), Every sheeps value is recorded. This information is used as part of our culling process. Striving for bloodlines who’s dag scores have been 0 or 1 their whole life.

After years of selection, Holly farm has produced highly fertile romneys.

Wool:

Holly flocks have retained their wool standards. Part of our selection criteria is based on the wool quality of each sheep.
